| LOCATION The houses are on the outskirts of a village about 30mins drive from AGEN deep in the heart of fruit-growing and sunflower country. Because we are almost as far south as the Mediterannean coast, the climate is noticeably and reliably warmer than the UK. |

If
you’re driving, the general TOURS area represents an easily attainable
half way mark for a leisurely supper and overnight stay (try VOUVRAY)
but if you can bear to get the earlier tunnel crossings at 6 or 6.21
a.m. and confine yourself to picnic stops (there are numerous ‘aires
de...’ along the motorways) you can be at your destination enjoying our
‘welcome bottle’ 9 hours later with a full evening ahead on your first
day.
Now its more fully open, we find the A20 route due south to Cahors best. Alternatively we’re two hours south of BORDEAUX or 1 hour north of TOULOUSE on the A62 if you wish to fly/drive. You can book the train through to AGEN, but for excursions a car is essential as public transport is virtually non-existent. Car hire is available at the airports and Agen station (Europcar: www.europcar.com) |
